Clayfield

Another very heavily European influenced suburb Clayfield is home to one of King of Cakes bakeries and Cafés. The store delivers exceptional traditional German & European cakes, pastries and freshly baked bread along with signature European and Australian coffees.

Location

Clayfield is an inner northern suburb in Brisbane, located approximately 7 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. The name is derived from the fine white-grey clay mined in Albion which was used in the brickworks that once existed near Sandgate Road. This industry, once known as ‘the clay fields’ was one of the main reasons behind the residential surge of European settlers in the north Brisbane region. Kalinga Park is located on the furthermost northern limits, with Clayfield also encompassing Eagle Junction.
